Things I Wanted to Read, But Didn't

Best Dad Tips: If your partner hasn't mentioned these books yet order them on Amazon and surprise her.  She'll think you are the Best Dad ever! We wanted to be the world's best parents.  We went to all the baby classes the hospital offered.  We thought we had it down, but we quickly realized that we had no idea what we were doing.  The classes we took turned out to be about giving birth, not being parents.  We spent the first nights soaking up all the information the nurses at the hospital could give us, but with each new day we were confronted with new problems.  We did not spend any time reading about how to be parents, and you know what...that's okay! An Introduction

Hello and Welcome to How to be a Daddy! This is a place for me to share my adventures of becoming a first time parent , and hopefully others can learn from my mistakes and successes.   We had our first son, Brandon, three months ago and I have been amazed at how much our life has changed and how much it hasn't.   There is infinite more joy in our house now that Brandon is born, but most of all I'm surprised at how much life hasn't changed.  (Except for the diaper changes, there are a lot of those!).   For the most part our life is the same, we cook dinner and watch TV, we talk about our day and dream of the future.  In other ways, our lives are completely different: We sleep less, we get peed on, I know more than I ever wanted to about nipples, but really Brandon has been a great baby and we finally have an excuse to live in a messy house!
